U.S. Census Bureau Director John H. Thompson will brief the media on 2020 Census preparations and operations at the National Processing Center in Jeffersonville, Ind. Thompson will specifically discuss in-office address canvassing, an operation that uses technology and new information sources to update the census address list to help ensure everyone is counted once, only once and in the right place.
The Census Bureau’s National Processing Center collects and processes data for more than 150 demographic and economic surveys, including the decennial census. Its staff prepares and sends out survey documents, processes data from completed questionnaires, and maintains a call center to answer questions from survey respondents.
