The Bureau of the Census has published data on the Negro population in many of the reports of the 1960 Census. The guide presented here shows, in one place, the types of data available for the Negro population, the geographic detail for which they are presented, and the specific report in which they have been published.

In addition, data on the total nonwhite population are shown in most of the 1960 Census reports for a wide range of areas, including census tracts and city blocks. The material in the guide is confined to published data from the 1960 Census of Population; but information on unpublished data, data available from current surveys, or population estimates may be obtained by writing to the Chief, Population Division, Bureau of the Census, Washington, D.C., 20233.
