The reports in this series are numbered in alphabetical order according to the names of the States. The number of the report, therefore, does not indicate the sequence of publication. Reports issued in this series include the 10 States with the largest population in 1940, followed by Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Preliminary sample data for the 10 larger States will be found in Series PC-12: Characteristics of the Population of (specified State).
