This abstract contains all of the essential statistics collected at the census of 1920 for population, occupations, agriculture, irrigation, drainage, manufactures, and mines and quarries. It summarizes the more important and significant statistics contained in the eleven volumes of the Fourteenth Census Reports and is designed to meet the requirements of those who desire the statistics for the census as a whole in convenient form for ready reference or who may not have access to the complete reports.
Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate. As part of our goal to be open and transparent with the public, we are improving access to all Census Bureau original publications and statistics, which serve as a guide to the nation's history.
